Never Again

A sobering composition, this one depicts the desire to escape the seemingly endless cycle of sin we sometimes fall into. There is an escape, thanks be to God who has granted that.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Hands and Feet

Martin Luther, of Reformation era notoriety, had some wise words to share and this short, organ-filled breakbeat is a bit of an ode to some of them.
"The Bible is alive, it speaks to me; it has feet, it runs after me; it has hands, it lays hold of me" - Martin Luther

Let us honor God in recognizing that He alone is worthy of praise, all praise. Grungy organs and other underground, overdrive hip-hop sounds decorate our God-honoring words of admiration.

Religion for the Weak

A sad tale of despair about a man who turns angrily away from a Christian upbringing and to a bleak view of reality, only to meet a dark end facing this grim life head on.

This is an project from a brother/friend at my local church:

Like our project here, the project focuses on glorifying God through artistry drawing on hip-hop culture. They create and sell merchandise of all sorts, with a heavy emphasis on typology and with that underground hip-hop bent.

Check out their merchandise here:

Here's the very first official release from this whole "Son of no man" project, an overdriven, 70's funk-styled hip-hop beat with God-honoring, Christ-centered lyrics. I've had this one sitting on my hard drive for a few years now and finally took the time to add the final touches.

The piece was composed entirely in FLStudio, making heavy use of all the built-in plugins like FPC (for the drums), FL Slayer (for the bass) and of course, Convolver for that clean and realistic reverb.

Next up, I'm working on a video to post this to YouTube with lyrics and extra effects.

Psalm 2 Stylized Reading

My brother and I composed this piece a couple years back. I laid down the bulk of the track with ambient sounds I thought would suit this imprecatory genre of the Bible. My brother provided much needed feedback and then the main vocals. I handled the alternate voice, of the bad guy.
